In addition to the evening's activities, the chapter awarded the first "Chi Chi Chapter of Sigma Chi Distinguished Alumnus Award" in honor of an alumnus who has gone above and beyond in his post- graduate life. This year, the award went to Clay Ryan, a resident of Homewood and shareholder with Maynard, Cooper, & Gale PC. Clay graduated cum laude from BSC with a bachelors degree in political- science and went on to graduate from the University of Alabama School of Law cum laude, with his juris doctor. Since then, Clay has been involved in Alabama politics and campaigns extensively, serving as the transition coordinator for Governor Bentley and currently serving as Counsel to the Governor's Emergency Relief Fund, working to aid those affected by last spring's tornadoes. Clay was named in 2010 as an Alabama Super Lawyer for his expertise in governmental affairs and administrative law, serves on the board of directors from Glenwood, Inc, The Autism and Health Behavioral Health Center, and was recognized last spring as one of Birmingham's "Top 40 under 40" among his many other accomplishments. The brothers of the Chi Chi chapter congratulate Clay on his outstanding accomplishments and representation of Sigma Chi and would like to thank all alumni who attending the event.
